MS Dhoni Provides Update On His Knee Injury While Speaking At An Event In Bengaluru

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Captain MS Dhoni has given an update on the knee injury he sustained during the IPL 2023. Immediately after leading CSK to their fifth title in IPL 2023, Dhoni underwent surgery in Mumbai.

Previously, MS Dhoni had said, “Given the circumstances, this is the best time to announce my retirement. It’s easy for me to thank you and retire. But for CSK fans, it will be a gift; (Meet me) for one more season.”

Dhoni recently seen attended an event in Bengaluru where spoke about his knee and hinted at his IPL future during an interview. The host asked a question from Dhoni addressing him with “As you have retired”.

During the program, when an interviewer started discussing MS Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket, another panelist quickly corrected by stating that this is his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni smiled, and with the consensus, the audience applauded his acknowledgment.

Speaking at an event, the 42-year-old Indian legend revealed that his knee surgery has been successful, and he is making consistent progress without any complications. Medical professionals have assured him that he should be significantly better by November. Dhoni is currently focusing on rehab to regain his fitness.

“Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab patch, the doctor told me you would feel much better by November. But no problem in day-to-day routine,” said Dhoni.

Amid MS Dhoni Update BCCI Has Started Preparations For IPL 2024

Coming to the IPL The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has initiated preparations for the upcoming One Day World Cup alongside the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Plans are underway for the player auctions for the upcoming season of the IPL. Not only the IPL, but the board has also formulated a plan for the Women’s Premier League (WPL). It is believed that player auctions for both tournaments may take place in December.

Auctions To Take Place In Dubai

The IPL auction may be held in Dubai, with the BCCI finalizing its plans. The board could organize the auction between December 15 and 19. For the Women’s Premier League (WPL), there is an expectation that the auction will take place on December 9. Although the location for the WPL auction has not been confirmed, it is likely to be held in India.

The BCCI has not sent any official communication to the franchises regarding the auction. There is a lot of discussion about the possibility of the auction being held in Dubai, possibly on December 18 or 19.

Last year, the BCCI had considered holding the auction in Istanbul but eventually decided on Kochi. Therefore, the Dubai plan may be tentative, but all IPL franchises have been asked to consider Dubai as the auction venue.

While the trading window for players is currently open, no player exchanges have taken place among the IPL franchises so far. Before the auction, some expensive players may be released, and franchises will be given sufficient time for this decision.
