Dinesh Karthik Has Been Named as The Captain Of Tamil Nadu For Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023– Varun Chakravarthy has been included in Tamil Nadu’s 16-member Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 squad. Varun has been included in the squad for Tamil Nadu for the first time since his debut season in 2018.

The selection committee has already named Dinesh Karthik in this squad. Dinesh Karthik has been chosen as the captain and is currently commentating in the ICC ODI World Cup. Along with this, the Chain Committee has finalized the team on Friday.

Along with Varun Chakraborty, there are some other names who have been included in the team, including Players like B.Indrajit. Pradosh Ranjan Paul and R Sonu Yadav are also included.They are returning to the team after missing out in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Washington Sundar, who led the team in T20, has not been named in the team at the moment. Because he is busy with national commitments.

Tamil Nadu Will Be Camping In Mumbai From Nov 16 For Preparations Of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023

Left-handed batsman R Vimal Kumar has earned a spot in the team due to his outstanding performance in the Under-23 ODI tournament. The selectors, acknowledging his excellence, have granted him an opportunity to represent Tamil Nadu.

R.Vimal Kumar showcased his skills in the Under-23 ODI tournament, contributing to his selection. Additionally, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, the team’s who also captained U-23 side, has demonstrated strong form, scoring 468 runs in 7 matches in 23 ODI tournaments, and continues to impress with 441 runs.

Team captain Dinesh Karthik, while speaking to Sportstar on Friday, said, “I am very happy with the team we have got. Tamil Nadu has been a very good team in white-ball cricket and we want to get back to the high standards we have set.” He further said, I am working on my fitness and doing gym work. Our camp will be in Mumbai from 16th November and I will start my skill training there”.

This season can be very important for Dinesh Karthik, he last led Tamil Nadu in the 2020-21 season and he would like the team to perform well under his leadership this time.

Regarding Pradosh and Vimal, Dinesh Karthik said that both these players have performed well despite losing the first two matches with 23 teams to qualify for the knockouts. Dinesh said that it is good to see the youngsters performing like this.

On Varun Chakraborty’s comeback, Dinesh Karthik said he is excited to play and can bowl both power play and death overs. He knows that if he has a good tournament here and then IPL, he can make a comeback at the national level.

Tamil Nadu has to play its match in Mumbai from 25 November to 5 December. Tamil Nadu is part of Group A which also includes teams like Bengal, Punjab, Goa, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh and Baroda.
