Umar Gul And Saeed Ajmal First Assignments Will Be Test Series Against Australia
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former fast bowler Umar Gul and ex-spinner Saeed Ajmal as the bowling coaches for the Pakistan cricket team. Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal will accompany the Pakistani team on their tour to Australia.

Umar Gul has previously served as the coach for the Pakistan cricket team. He coached the team during the T20 series against Afghanistan and the home series against New Zealand. Additionally, Umar Gul has experience as the bowling coach for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2022. In the T20 World Cup in 2022, Umar Gul served as the bowling coach for the Afghanistan team.
Umar Gul made his debut for Pakistan in 2003 and played 47 Test matches, taking 163 wickets with an average of 34.00. In ODIs, he took 189 wickets in 130 matches with an average of 29.34. Umar Gul also played 60 T20 internationals, taking 85 wickets with an average of 16.97. He retired from international cricket in 2016.
On the other hand, former Pakistani spin bowler Saeed Ajmal was a prominent figure in his prime, reaching the number one spot in the ICC rankings as a One Day International (ODI) bowler.
Saeed Ajmal made his debut in 2008, playing 35 Test matches and 113 ODIs for Pakistan. He also represented Pakistan in 64 T20 internationals, accumulating a total of 447 wickets across all formats. Saeed Ajmal has previously served as the bowling coach for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Apart From New Coaches PCB Has Also Appointed New Captains For Test And T20 Team
Pakistan announced its 18-member team On Monday for the upcoming three-match Test series during the Australia tour starting from December 14. Newly appointed chief selector Wahab Riaz curated the squad for this tour, appointing Shan Masood as the captain of the Test team.
The Test team includes debutants Saim Ayub and Khurram Shahzad, marking their first appearance, while Faheem Ashraf, Mir Hamza, and Mohammad Wasim Junior have made a return to the Test squad. The opening Test of the Australia tour for Pakistan is scheduled on December 14 in Perth. Following this, the second test will be held in Melbourne from December 26, and the third and final Test is set for January 3 in Sydney.
