Pakistan Won The Toss And Decided To Bowl First

Earlier Pakistan won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand had a good start to their innings. Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra shared a 68-run partnership for the first wicket.

Conway was dismissed after scoring 35 runs in 39 balls. Then, Kane Williamson, who was returning from an injury, partnered with Rachin Ravindra to add 180 runs together.

During this, Rachin scored his third century in this World Cup, becoming the first New Zealand player to score three centuries in a single World Cup. Meanwhile, Williamson contributed with 95 runs, hitting 10 boundaries and two sixes before getting out.

After scoring a century, Rachin Ravindra’s partnership with Williamson ended, and he was out after making 108 runs off 94 balls. Following that, Daryl Mitchell scored 29 runs in 18 balls, Mark Chapman made 39 runs in 27 balls, and Glenn Phillips played a quick 41-run inning in 25 balls. Sachin Tendulkar had scored 523 runs in the 1996 World Cup, but it took Rachin just eight matches to match this record.

In terms of centuries, Rachin Ravindra has even surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. He scored his third century against Pakistan in Bengaluru, while Sachin had two.

Notably, Rachin Ravindra’s unique name, influenced by a combination of Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar (RaChin), adds an interesting aspect to his story. Despite his origin from Bangalore, he now calls the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore his home ground.
