On Instagram, she informed followers about the phony account and expressed her concern over the proliferation of phony content.

‘Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the Internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality,’ Sara said via a statement issued on Instagram stories.

‘A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with an intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them.’

On October 26, the altered photo of Shubman Gill and Sara Tendulkar started making the rounds on social media. Many were perplexed by the image and believed that perhaps the couple had made their relationship official. But soon after, the real story behind this picture came to light. The photo was taken from Sara’s Instagram account and was altered. Arjun Tendulkar, Sara’s brother, was seated next to her instead of Shubman.

There’s also a verified X (previously Twitter) handle that tweets on a regular basis. This Twitter account is registered under Sara Tendulkar’s name and features a photo of Sara Tendulkar.

Recall that Shubman Gill and Sara Tendulkar were spotted together at a social gathering. They both went to the Jio Plaza launch party hosted by the Ambani family. When people saw them together, rumors circulated that their relationship had been verified. Sara Tendulkar supported Shubman by attending a match just one day later.
