Their opening batsmen struggled, with Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq scoring only 9 and 12 runs, respectively. This marked his third fifty in the ongoing tournament and the third in the current season. While he has consistently performed well, he is yet to convert any of his fifties into centuries.

After losing half the team for less than 150 runs, Saud Shakeel and Shadab Khan came to Pakistan’s rescue, showing great determination with their batting.

They built a solid partnership after settling in, quickly scoring runs as the partnership progressed. Shadab Khan contributed 43 runs off 36 balls before being dismissed, ending their partnership of 84 runs. Pakistan end up putting the total of 270 on board.

Although both players had taken Pakistan beyond 225 runs with their partnership, Saud Shakeel was also out after adding 52 runs..

From South Africa’s side, Tabraiz Shamsi took four wickets, Marco Jansen took three, and Lungi Ngidi dismissed one batsman. South Africa needs 271 runs to win.
