Rachin Ravindra,The New Zealand all-rounder has been announced as the best player for the month of October among Men by The ICC, Hayley Mathews from West Indies securing the award among women.

Ravindra’s outstanding performance in the World Cup 2023 played a crucial role in him defeating competitors Jasprit Bumrah and Quinton de Kock for the accolade. As of November 9, Ravindra leads in terms of scoring the most runs in the current tournament, amassing 565 runs in nine group stage matches.

Ravindra In Great Form For Kiwis In World Cup 2023

In the World Cup 2023, Ravindra’s notable achievements included scoring a century in the opening match against defending champions England. This innings of 123 not out established him as the youngest New Zealand player to achieve a century in an ODI World Cup and the fourth Kiwi to score a century on his World Cup debut. His century against Australia, scoring 116 runs from 89 balls, and against Pakistan, with 108 runs off 94 balls, showcased his consistent excellence.

Ravindra’s performance extends beyond batting, as he has made significant contributions with the ball. In a match against Sri Lanka, he played a vital role in New Zealand’s strong bowling performance, taking two wickets.

She also earned the Player of the Series title. Mathews played a crucial role in West Indies’ victory in the second match of the T20 series, taking three wickets for 36 runs. In the ODI series, she contributed with scores of 20 and 23.

They must deliver a remarkable performance in the upcoming match against England on Saturday (11 November). New Zealand’s triumph not only dashed Pakistan’s hopes but also those of Afghanistan.

If both Pakistan and Afghanistan are eliminated from the World Cup, the first-placed Indian team will face New Zealand in the semi-finals. This clash is scheduled for November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
