Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Team India’s dressing room after the final of ODI World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Modi conveyed his encouragement to the players, emphasizing that the entire nation was closely observing their efforts, and they should take pride in their journey thus far. Holding the hands of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he provided words of support.

Despite the team’s outstanding performance with ten consecutive victories in the league matches, they faced their first defeat in the finals against Australia. The Indian team had an undefeated streak until the semi-finals, making the loss particularly poignant. Prime Minister Modi, visibly disappointed, attended the match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Post-match, he visited the dressing room to provide encouragement, acknowledging the players’ hard work and dedication.
In the decisive match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Australia triumphed over India by 6 wickets, claiming their sixth title. In this title clash, the Kangaroo team’s captain, Pat Cummins, won the toss and elected to bowl first. Subsequently, the bowlers delivered an excellent performance, restricting the Indian innings to 240 runs.
While chasing the target, Australia lost 3 wickets in the initial 10 overs, but Travis Head’s prudent century played a pivotal role in achieving the set goal. Despite the disappointment evident in the Indian team, head coach Rahul Dravid, in his media interaction, elucidated the primary reason for the defeat.
