The ICC had pre-announced the prize money, allocating Rs 83.29 crore (US$10 million) for the tournament. The victorious team was awarded Rs 33.31 crore (four million US dollars), while the runner-up received Rs 16.65 crore (two million US dollars).

Prize Money For The Semi-Finalists And Group Stage Teams
Even teams that exited in the semi-finals and group stages received financial recognition. Semi-final losers, South Africa and New Zealand, each received Rs 6.66 crore (US$800,000). Additionally, the six teams eliminated in the group stage—Pakistan, Afghanistan, England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Netherlands—were granted Rs 83.29 lakh (US$100,000).
The India Vs Australia Final Was Played In Ahmedabad
In the final match, Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, won the toss and opted to bowl. The Indian team posted a total of 240 runs in 50 overs. Australia secured victory by reaching 241 runs for four wickets in 43 overs. Travis Head played a pivotal inning, scoring 141 runs, with Marnus Labuschagne contributing 58 not out. Mitchell Marsh, David Warner, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell also made notable contributions.
Australia’s sixth world championship marked a significant achievement, while India’s aspirations for a third trophy were dashed. Despite winning 10 consecutive matches in the tournament, India fell short in the 11th match. This marked India’s second defeat in a World Cup final against Australia, with the previous loss occurring under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting in 2003.
