IND VS BAN-Virat Kohli Scored His 48th ODI Ton

IND VS BAN– India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in 4th match of their World Cup campaign. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh posted a total of 256 runs, losing eight wickets.

Liton Das was the the top scorer for Bangladesh, scoring 66 runs, while Tanjeed Hasan his opening partner contributed with a well made 51 runs. Later Mahmudullah displayed his talent scoring 46 runs helped the Bangladesh edging closer to the 250-run mark .Apart from that Mushfiqur Rahim added 38 runs.

India’s bowling attack saw Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja each claiming two wickets, while Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket apiece.

IND VS BAN- Bangladesh Innings

Bangladesh’s captain, Shakib Al Hasan, missed this match due to injury. In his absence, Nazmul Hasan took the charge and elected to bat first after winning the toss. Tanjeed Hasan and Liton Das made a promising start, adding 63 runs during the powerplay.

Bangladesh lost its first wicket at the total of 93 runs when Tanjeed Hasan was dismissed after scoring 51 runs in 43 balls, falling victim to Kuldeep Yadav’s skillful delivery. Captain Najmul was caught in front of stumps by Jadeja he made eight runs.

With the loss of their first wicket at 93, Bangladesh lost three quick wickets and their score stood at 137/4. After that Mushfiqur Rahim and Tauhid Hridoy made a small partership and together they added 42 runs for the fifth wicket.

Shardul dismissed Tauhid Hridoy, He scored 16 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim’s wicket was taken by Bumrah, He scored 38 runs. In the end, Mahmudullah contributed 46 runs in 36 balls, propelling the team’s score close to 250 runs. During the final over, Bumrah prevented Mahmudullah from reaching a half-century by delivering a brilliant yorker, dismissing him.

Shoriful’s six off the last ball took Bangladesh’s total to 256 runs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja secured two wickets each, while Shardul and Kuldeep claimed one wicket apiece.

Hardik Pandya Injured After Delivering 3 Deliveries

Unfortunately Hardik Pandya sustained an injury after delivering only three balls in the match. His leg muscles strained as he attempted to field, preventing him from continuing to bowl.

Virat Kohli stepped in to complete the remaining three balls of his over. The extent of Hardik’s injury remains uncertain, and he has been taken to the hospital for a scan. Consequently, his ability to bat in the second innings is in doubt.

IND VS BAN- India’s Reply

Chasing the target, the Indian team had a strong start, as always. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got India off to a fast beginning. Firstly, Rohit Sharma, and then Shubman Gill, put the Bangladeshi bowlers under pressure with consecutive boundaries.

Since the start of the 2023 World Cup, Rohit Sharma has consistently put pressure on the bowlers from the top, disrupting their line and length with his aggressive batting. Bowlers struggle to figure out where to bowl to the Indian captain to take his wicket.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill appears to be in excellent form, as he displayed some fine shots against Pakistan, and today, against Bangladesh, he showcased remarkable batting. While Rohit Sharma reached 48 runs on his personal score, attempting to hit a six, he got caught on the boundary.

Then, Virat Kohli stepped up to bat, also launching his innings swiftly and not letting his strike rate drop. Gill equally partnered with Virat Kohli, but Shubman Gill was dismissed for 53 runs. Afterward shreyas Iyer joined Virat to continue batting. Both of them formed a good partnership, but Shreyas Iyer also lost his wicket while attempting a big shot and got caught on the boundary.

KL Rahul, who has been in superb form recently in the Asia Cup, came to bat alongside Virat Kohli. Both of them scored runs gathered runs all around the ground.

In the end, Virat Kohli, with aggressive play, hit a six on the final ball to secure a victory for India and also completed his 48th ODI century. KL Rahul also contributed with 34 runs and remained not out.

India To Play New Zealand Next

India will face New Zealand in their next match of the World Cup in Dharamshala on sunday, 22 october. It will be a great test for both the teams as both are placed on first and second spot on the points table with 8 points each winning all four matches in current campaign of World Cup.
