IND vs AUS World Cup 2023 Final: Over six thousand security personnel have been deployed in Ahmedabad city and Narendra Modi Stadium for the World Cup final between host India and five-time champion Australia on Sunday, November 19.

A senior police officer provided this information on Saturday. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles are expected to be among the prominent personalities present during the ICC Cricket World Cup final in the city’s Motera area, hopefully.
Malik informed reporters that, considering the movement of over one lakh spectators in the stadium and the presence of many dignitaries, elaborate security arrangements have been made with the assistance of Gujarat Police, Rapid Action Force (RAF), and Home Guard personnel.
He stated, “More than six thousand police personnel will be deployed to ensure that this prestigious competition is conducted without any hassle. Of these six thousand personnel, about three thousand will be deployed inside the stadium, while the rest will be deployed for security at other key locations, such as hotels where players and other dignitaries will stay.”
A company of RAF will be stationed inside the stadium. Malik mentioned that one company of RAF will be deployed inside the stadium, while the other company will be deployed outside the stadium. He added that the city police have set up a temporary command and control center equipped with a wireless network inside the venue, which will work even if mobile communication fails.
Malik also stated that four senior IPS officers of the rank of Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General, along with 23 Deputy Commissioners of Police, will inspect and guide the personnel on the match day. Additionally, 39 assistant police commissioners and 92 police inspectors will assist him.
NDRF teams will also be deployed in the city. The Ahmedabad police chief mentioned that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams will be deployed in the city to respond to any chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) emergency during the match.
He said 10 teams of the ‘Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad,’ as well as two teams of Chetak commandos, an elite unit, would be deployed near the stadium. When asked whether the police had received any information regarding a possible threat, Malik emphasized that the media should not highlight such threats issued by unknown persons sitting outside India.

He said, “We are well prepared for any threat. Some people sitting in Canada or any other country just send a threatening email or share an audio or video of any threat, and the media makes hype about it.
I believe there is no need to pay attention to such things.” Other dignitaries present at the stadium during the final match included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, Singapore’s Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam, Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.

The famous Surya Kiran aerobatics team of the Indian Air Force will also perform an air show before the match on Sunday. The match will start at 2 pm in the stadium with a capacity of 1 lakh 32 thousand spectators. The Indian team has won all its 10 matches so far in the tournament.
