Eng vs Ban World Cup 2023: In the seventh match of the ODI World Cup 2023, England defeated Bangladesh by good margin of 137 runs. This is their first victory in the current edition of the World Cup. England had to face defeat against New Zealand in the opening match. Bangladesh also suffered their first loss.

They had defeated Afghanistan in their first match. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. England scored 364 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs. In reply, Bangladesh team was all out for 227 runs in 48.2 overs.

ENGLAND’S GREAT VICTORY

ENG VS BANEngland defeated Bangladesh to register their first win in the ongoing edition of the World Cup. With this victory they got two points. They have now lifted to fifth position in the points table. At the same time, due to big defeat, Bangladesh team has slipped to sixth place. They also have two points in two matches.

England made a big change in this match and included left arm fast bowler Reece Topley in the team. He replaced Moeen Ali. This decision of England captain Jos Buttler proved to be right. Topley bowled brilliantly and took four wickets. He gave success to England in the initial overs. The team got benefited from this and England got a big victory by 137 runs.

The England team, which came to bat first, scored 364 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. For England, opener David Malan played an inning of 140 runs in 107 balls. While Joe Root contributed 82 runs on 68 balls. At the same time, Jonny Bairstow scored 52 runs in 59 balls.Malan and Root added 151 for the second wicket after the former and Bairstow had put on 115 runs for the opening wicket

Mehndi Hasan was pick of the bowlers getting 4 wickets for Bangladesh. While left arm seemer Shoriful Islam dismissed 3 players. Apart from this, Taskin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan took 1 wicket each.

ENG VS BAN- BANGLADESH INNINGS

Liton Das scored the highest score of 76 runs for bangladesh team while chasing the big target of 365 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim alsos showed some experience and played an innings of 51 runs while Tauheed scored 39 runs. Four of bangladesh’s first five batsmen could not reach double figures. From that point the bangla tigers fell far behind in the match.

Mehdi Hasan, Miraj scored 8, Tanjeed Hasan and captain Shakib Al Hasan were out after scoring 1 run each. Nazmul Hussain Shanto could not even open an account. Apart from Reece Topley’s 4 wickets, Chris Woakes took 2 wickets for England. Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Liam Livingstone and Mark Wood got one success each.

DAWID MALAN NAMED MAN OF THE MATCH

English opener Dawid Malan continuing his incredible run this year scored 140 runs from 107 balls, joining the elite company of English stars David Gower and Jonny Bairstow to have the joint-most ODI tons in a calendar year for his country. He hit 16 fours and five sixes in his innings.

in the post match interview, Dawid Malan said that he is not in India to ‘prove a point’ when asked about criticism surrounding his ability to play quality spin bowling.
