BAN Vs NZ Ist Test- After a disappointing performance in the World Cup, Bangladesh has made a great comeback in international cricket. Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by 150 runs in the first test match played in Sylhet. With this victory, Bangladesh has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. This is a historical victory for  Bangladesh because they have defeated New Zealand for the first time in a Test match at home soil. Taijul Islam was the hero of this victory, thanks to his brilliant bowling, Bangladesh got this huge victory.

Bangladesh cricket team created history in Sylhet, despite the turmoil in the World Cup, Bangladesh made a great comeback and won the first Test by playing excellent cricket in the home series being played with New Zealand. Thanks to the brilliant bowling of Taijul Islam (6 wickets), Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by 150 runs in the first session on the fifth and final day of the first Test on Saturday. This victory was historic for Bangladesh as they defeated New Zealand for the first time in a Test match at home soil.

Bangladesh needed 3 wickets to win on the last day. The host team beat the Kiwis after spending 68 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Left arm spinner Taijul Islam took a total of 10 wickets in the match and for this brilliant performance he was chosen as the Player of the Match.

New Zealand’s Strong Batting Line Up Surrendered

New Zealand advanced their innings on the last day with a score of 113/7. Darryl Mitchell (58) and Ish Sodhi (22) struggled, but could not make a big partnership. Nayeem Hasan broke this partnership by getting Mitchell caught out by Taijul Islam. Mitchell scored 58 runs in 120 balls with the help of 7 fours. From here Sodhi and captain Tim Southee (34) added 46 runs for the 9th wicket.

Southee batted aggressively and scored 34 runs in 24 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. Taijul Islam ended Southee’s innings by getting caught by Zakir Hasan. Then Taijul sealed Bangladesh’s victory by getting Sodhi caught out by Zakir Hasan. Sodhi scored 22 runs in 91 balls with the help of two fours.

In the match played in Sylhet, Bangladesh batted first and its first innings was all out for 310 runs in 85.1 overs. In response, New Zealand’s first innings was all out for 317 runs in 101.5 overs. The visiting team took a lead of 7 runs on the basis of the first innings.

Then Bangladesh scored 338 runs in the second innings. The host team’s second innings was all out for 338 runs in 100.4 overs. New Zealand set a target of 332 runs to win. Found, chasing which the Kiwi team collapsed for 181 runs in 71.1 overs. The second and final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand will be played in Mirpur from 6 December.
