But In the recent days, reports are circulating  that BCCI has offered a contract extension to Dravid until T20 World Cup 2024. But, cricketer-turned-commentator, Aakash Chopra believes that he might turn down the offer in order to spend more time with his family.

“BCCI is keen on extending Rahul Dravid’s contract. All hints and news point toward… yes, he has been given an extension. But there’s a chance he might not take it, there is a possibility because Team India’s coaching job takes a huge toll. For your family, for your personal life, it’s a little harmful, I am telling you very honestly. You are on the road so much that it doesn’t work out very well. But again, priorities,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Akash Chopra is also hopeful of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli might feature in the upcoming T20 World Cup in West Indies and the USA and if they indeed play, the team might be almost similar to that of 2022.

“I have a feeling that they (BCCI) have also told Rohit Sharma that we are not going to tell you anything, you carry on and lead us in the T20 World Cup 2024. I am almost sure that the same thing has been told to Virat Kohli. If that is the case, I am thinking, the team that played the T20 World Cup in 2022, almost a similar team might play in 2024,” Chopra furher said.
