Zimbabwe’s Dream Of Playing In The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Broken Following Uganda Cricket Team Qualification
Zimbabwe, however, continues to struggle in the World Cup qualifying process. Not only did they miss out on the 2019 and 2013 ODI World Cups, but they also didn’t place in the top two of the home T20 World Cup qualifiers. In addition, they were prohibited from playing in the T20 World Cup in 2021 due to their suspension by the ICC for government meddling in cricket administration.
Zimbabwe’s poor performance in the second round of the 2022 T20 World Cup prevented them from earning a direct ticket to the West Indies and the USA T20 World Cups. Their chances of competing in the 2025 Champions Trophy were further diminished by their ineligibility for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
