The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the 9th Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup tournament will be played in 2024. Top teams from across the world will participate in the tournament. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States Of America. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will begin on June 4, 2024. This will be the first time the United States will host a major cricket tournament. The ICC recently finalised the venues in the United States where the T20 World Cup matches will be played.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will feature 20 teams from around the world. Cricket is one of the most popular and widely followed sports in the world. The United States (USA) will co-host the T20 World Cup with the West Indies. Here’s all you need to know about the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
This T20 World Cup will be the biggest in terms of the number of participant teams. Twelve teams have already booked their places for the 2024 tournament. As hosts, the West Indies and the United States have taken the first two spots. Then, the top eight teams (top four in each Super 12 group) of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 are assured of a place. Bangladesh and Afghanistan are also in the fray.
The remaining eight qualifiers will come from regions where there will be two teams each from Africa, Asia and Europe and one each from the Americas and EAP.

Format Of ICC T20 World Cup 2024
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: In the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, a total of 20 teams will be divided into groups of four and one group will have five teams. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format.The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 stage. The teams will be divided into two groups of 4 teams each.The top 2 teams qualify for the knockout stage. The teams will then play each other in the semi-finals and the final of the championship.

When will the tournament begin?
A total of 20 teams will compete in the T20 World Cup. The tournament will be played from 4 June 2024 to 30 June 2024. England is the winner of the last T20 World Cup. This is the first time that a major ICC event will be held in the USA.
India, First T20 World Cup Winner
India won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 by defeating Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. It was the first edition of the T20 World Cup. The first World Cup was hosted by South Africa. India have won the T20I World Cup title for the first time.
Australia Hosted Last T20 World Cup
The last edition of the tournament i.e. ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 was hosted by Australia. The match was between England and Pakistan. England, led by Jos Buttler, defeated Pakistan by five wickets to win the title. This was the second time that England became the champion, before England became the champion in 2010.
